A job application email HR will actually open (with templates)
How to write a job application email HR will open: a clear subject line, a short body and the right attachments, with Thai and English templates.
27 October 2026
Some HR staff receive dozens of application emails a day. The ones that get opened first say in the subject line who you are and which role you want. The body should be short enough to read in half a minute.
Subject line
Use: Application for [role] – Full Name. If the ad has a job code, include it. Never write just "Job application" or "My résumé".
Body
- Greet the recipient by name if you know it; otherwise "Dear Hiring Team".
- Name the role and where you saw the ad.
- Say in two or three sentences why you fit, with concrete results or numbers.
- Say what is attached and how to reach you.
- Close politely.
Attachments
- Send your résumé as a PDF named Resume_Name_Role.
- Keep attachments small; if you have a large portfolio, share a link instead.

Dear Khun Wipa,
I am applying for the Online Marketing Officer role advertised on HappyJob. For the past two years I have run the page of an online shop, planning monthly content and managing ads myself, and orders through the page grew clearly while I looked after it. I believe this experience fits what your team is looking for.
My résumé and work samples are attached. You can reach me at 08x-xxx-xxxx or by reply to this email.
Thank you for your time. Somying Jaidee
